New To Faith
New To Faith
What Now?
This is an exciting time in your life – you’ve decided to make Jesus the Lord of your life and become a Christ-follower. But what does that mean exactly? What are you supposed to do to learn how to follow Him? First, understand that you are beginning to form a real relationship with Jesus Christ.
When you decided to put your faith in Jesus, you began a new life spiritually. Just like a newborn baby grows and develops, we need to grow and develop as children of God. It is a day-by-day, step-by-step process that we all go through as we learn how to live as a child of God.
You might think developing a relationship with Jesus— with someone you cannot see—is a strange thought. But the reality is that it is very similar to developing a relationship with a person that you can see. And it all starts by just spending time with him and in God’s Word, the Bible. It is an exciting adventure, one that will change your life forever.
The Bible
Wouldn’t it be great if we had a direct way to hear from God and a manual from Him by which to live? We have good news! That is exactly what the Bible is, and it is the best place to start to get to know Jesus. The Bible reveals who God is, what He has done for you through Jesus and what He wants to do in and through you today. As you read the Bible, you will begin to see how God thinks about you and all other things. There are several different versions that are easy and exciting to read. You can find a version you like in the YouVersion Bible App.
Next Steps
Following Christ was never intended to be something you try to do alone. God designed us to live life in community—in meaningful relationships with other members in the Body of Christ. The place to start where you will learn more about Crossroads Church and this local Body of Christ is Next Steps. You will learn what our vision is, what we believe, how to get involved and how to begin your new journey of faith.
Water Baptism
Water baptism is an important step in your new relationship with Jesus. Baptism is simply an outward expression of an inward change; a public declaration of a decision to follow Jesus.
Water baptism is also a symbolic act of aligning yourself with Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. When we are submerged under water, we identify with His death. When we are raised out of the water, we identify with being raised up to new life like Jesus was.

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
