Love Thy Neighbor Ministries (Formerly Ambassadors 4 Christ)

Love Thy Neighbor Ministries reaches the homeless community in Lafayette by building relationships through monthly Bible studies and meals. If you have a heart for the homeless, love to cook, are passionate about Bible study, or just love to make friends, Love Thy Neighbor is a great place to get involved.

Bridge Ministry of Acadiana

Bridge Ministry of Acadiana is a community development organization that focuses on neighborhood revitalization. They offer after-school tutoring and mentorship for children, Bible studies and job readiness classes for adults, and they offer an annual summer camp to prevent the “summer slide” (developmental regression while children are out of classes). Volunteer opportunities can be as involved as weekly mentorship and tutoring, or as simple as reading with kids for half an hour once a month. See all the current needs and opportunities here: bridgeacadiana.com

Inner Faith Prison Ministry

InnerFaith Prison Ministry brings the Gospel to prisons throughout the state of Louisiana, ministering to both inmates and their families. One branch of their ministry, Little Lambs, reaches out specifically to children of incarcerated parents, preventing them from ending up in the prison system as well. A few of the opportunities to minister with InnerFaith include going on evangelism trips to prisons or volunteering for various Little Lambs events! You can learn more information about how to get involved here:  innerfaithpm.com

Foster the Love

Foster the Love equips local foster families by meeting practical needs, such as clothes, furniture, and relational support, preventing sibling separation and foster parents burning out. For children entering foster care, Foster the Love provides First Night bags that include clothes and supplies they may not have been permitted to collect before being transferred into care. Foster the Love volunteer opportunities include donation organization, First Night bag assembly, First Night meals, and more. You can learn about these opportunities at:  fosterthelovela.org

A Pregnancy Center and Clinic

A Pregnancy Center and Clinic helps women facing unplanned pregnancies through counseling, free ultrasounds, medical referrals, and resources to support moms (and dads!) that choose to keep their babies. APCC can use volunteers for everything ranging from clerical work and donation organization to leading Bible studies! Check out their website here: apcclafayette.org

Faith House

Faith House of Acadiana is a shelter and resource center for survivors of domestic violence. They offer counseling, legal assistance, temporary shelter and long-term rehabilitation for families escaping the horrors of abuse. Opportunities to bless Faith House families include anything from “spring cleaning” their shelter to dropping off home-cooked meals to leading Bible studies for women discovering—many for the first time—that God loves them and has a plan for their lives! You can find more ways to get involved here: faithhouseacadiana.com

Gifting Grace Project

Gifting Grace Project meets practical needs for hundreds of homeless children and youth throughout Acadiana through annual coat drives, school supplies collections, and Christmas present programs. In addition to helping these kids stay well and in school, Gifting Grace introduces each child to the love of Jesus and the idea that God made them with a unique purpose. Volunteer opportunities include everything from contributing to supplies drives, helping to run collections and events, assembling kits, and more.
