Life Change at Summer Camp — Louisiana Assemblies of God, Woodworth, LA

Life Change at Summer Camp — Louisiana Assemblies of God, Woodworth, LA

Every summer, students and leaders from across the state gather at the Louisiana Assemblies of God district campgrounds in Woodworth, LA for a week that is more than just games, services, and late-night laughs — it’s a week that changes lives. This year was no different. God moved in powerful ways, breaking chains, building friendships, and calling people deeper into His purpose.

A Student’s Transformation – Anzleigh’s Story

Anzleigh arrived at camp unsure of what the week would bring. She didn’t know many people and expected a quiet, maybe even lonely, few days. But God had other plans.

“You often hear people say that going to camp will change your life, and while it may sound convincing, I never fully believed that God would truly change my life at camp, but I was wrong. When I got to camp I was not super close friends with any of the other students there, and thought that I was going to have a long few days. But with every activity and moment spent together, I began to grow such strong friendships that I realized I had really made a whole new family. Every message spoken, morning and afternoon, was amazing, but I will forever remember the one message, and moment, that changed my life. After feeling God’s presence surrounding me during worship I already knew that night would be different. With every point made I realized that the message was answering questions I had been praying God would answer. Then there was an altar call, and when I went up there and started praying and being prayed over, I felt God talk to me and felt his hands lay on me like never before. Every little doubt or question I ever had rushed away and I will never forget the feeling of that moment. I suddenly had this fire under me to chase the Lord with everything in me. I wanted to really make a change. This change started the weekend following camp when I got baptized for the first time. I am now being led by God through so many new open doors from co-leading a small group to starting a bible study at my school, and all of these opportunities are sprouting from the seed God planted in my heart at camp. So yes, camp really is life changing, and it is a change you will only understand by being there and witnessing a change in your own life like I did my own.”

A Leader’s Encounter – Brenna’s Story

For Brenna, one of our dedicated adult leaders, camp wasn’t just about pouring into students — it was about letting God pour into her.

“As a leader, it’s important to disciple your students — but also to disciple yourself. God has no age limit on transformation. At camp, He met me, broke anxiety off my life, and used my fears to bring breakthrough. What drained my peace became the place He restored it.”

Her story is a reminder that God works in every heart, no matter the age or role.

Why It Matters

Summer Camp is more than an event — it’s a catalyst for life-long change. Whether it’s a leader breaking free from fear or a student stepping boldly into their calling, these moments matter. At the campground, God is writing stories that will ripple through churches, schools, and communities for years to come.

Next summer, don’t just hear about it. Be there.

Summer Camp 2025: A Week of Faith, Friendship & Unforgettable Fun!

Summer Camp 2025: A Week of Faith, Friendship & Unforgettable Fun!

This summer, our kids had an amazing time at the Louisiana Assemblies of God Summer Camp in Woodworth, LA—and wow, what a week it was! From wild games and late-night laughs to powerful worship and prayer, every single day was packed with energy, connection, and God moments.

One of the most powerful things that happened all week? The way our kids bonded through worship and prayer—especially at the altar. Night after night, we saw students praying together, lifting each other up, and having real, honest moments with God. It wasn’t just emotional—it was transformational. Those altar times created deep friendships rooted in faith, and you could feel the unity growing stronger every day. Plus – our adult and junior leaders had a blast too! They connected with kids from other churches, prayed over them, and encouraged them throughout the week. It was so cool to see leaders and students stepping out, pouring into others, and building the Kingdom together—camp-wide!

Of course, there were plenty of epic moments outside the sanctuary too—messy games, team competitions, snack shack runs, and a whole lot of dancing and laughter. But the real win? Our kids came home changed—closer to God and to each other.

We’re beyond proud of them and grateful for what God did. Summer Camp 2025 was unforgettable—and we’re already counting down the days ‘til next year!

Faith in the Huddle: Why Ragin Cajun Day Matters

Faith in the Huddle: Why Ragin Cajun Day Matters

Get ready—Ragin Cajun Day is one of the most electric Sundays of the year at Crossroads Church! The UL football team joins us in both services, the sanctuary turns red and black, and the plaza comes alive with tailgating, food, and community celebration. It’s our chance to show love and hospitality to the hometown team—and it’s seriously fun. If you’ve never high-fived a linebacker on your way to church, this is your moment.

But beyond the excitement, Ragin Cajun Day carries real spiritual weight. Just like our Back to School Blessing—where we cover students, teachers, and faculty in prayer—this day is about interceding for college students too. These young men are under pressure: balancing classes, expectations, and performance on and off the field. Many are far from home, trying to find their identity in a world that tells them performance is everything.

This Sunday, we stand in the gap.

We’re not just honoring a team—we’re praying over the next generation of leaders. We’re asking God to raise up men of integrity, courage, and faith. Men who know who they are in Christ before they know who they are on a roster.

So bring your family, wear your Cajun gear, and come ready to cheer and pray. Let’s send a clear message to the UL football team: You’re not just athletes—we see you, we believe in you, and we’re with you.

Geaux Cajuns!

Honoring Freedom: Join Us for a Special Juneteenth Celebration at Crossroads

Honoring Freedom: Join Us for a Special Juneteenth Celebration at Crossroads

At Crossroads Church, we believe the Church should lead the way in celebrating the rich beauty of God’s diverse creation. That’s why we are inviting our entire community to a special Juneteenth Celebration Service on Sunday, June 22 during our 9AM & 11AM worship experiences.

What is Juneteenth?

Juneteenth, observed annually on June 19, commemorates the day in 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas were finally informed of their freedom—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. It’s a day that marks not only the end of slavery in the United States but also the ongoing journey toward justice, equity, and freedom for all people.

It is a time to remember, reflect, and rejoice in the victories of the past while also committing ourselves to a future shaped by love, unity, and truth.

Celebrate Diversity – A Core Value at Crossroads

World, have you ever thought about what causes so much discord and strife? So many people only want to be around others just like themselves. But God is a Creator—and He has made humankind to be wonderfully different, unique, and varied.

At Crossroads Church, one of our core values is to celebrate diversity. We believe the differences among us bring out the best within us. Diversity isn’t something to merely tolerate—it’s something to honor and cherish because it reflects the creativity and glory of God Himself.

When the Bible describes Heaven, it reveals a place filled with people from every race, tribe, and nation worshiping together in harmony. And Jesus taught us to pray that God’s will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. That means we don’t wait until eternity to live in unity—we pursue it now.

A Soul-Searching Challenge

So we must ask ourselves:

Does someone have to look like me to be loved by me?

This question challenges the walls we build and the assumptions we make. It invites us to love the way Jesus loves—without conditions or borders. In a world where division seems to come so easily, the Church is called to be radically different: a family where all belong, and love is not confined by sameness.

Join the Celebration

Our Juneteenth celebration is more than a special event—it’s a step toward God’s vision for His people. Together, we will lift our voices in worship, hear testimonies that inspire, and be moved by a message rooted in truth and grace.

🗓 Sunday, June 22
🕘 9AM & 11AM
📍 Crossroads Church | 150 Verona Dr. Lafayette, LA 70507

Come ready to celebrate freedom, embrace diversity, and live out the prayer: on Earth as it is in Heaven.

The Lasting Impact of a Mother’s Love

The Lasting Impact of a Mother’s Love

There’s no influence quite like that of a mother. From the earliest moments of life, a mother’s presence offers comfort, strength, and a sense of security that shapes a child’s heart in ways words can hardly express. Whether it’s whispered prayers over a sleeping baby, wise guidance through teenage years, or simply the steady presence in the highs and lows of life, moms are often the unsung heroes of our stories.

Mothers carry the weight of nurturing not just bodies, but souls. They teach us what love looks like in action—through patience, sacrifice, and unconditional support. Their influence reaches far beyond childhood, impacting generations to come. Whether biological, adoptive, or spiritual, a mother’s legacy is built in quiet moments that leave a lifelong mark.

This Mother’s Day, we want to honor and celebrate the incredible women who shape our families and our faith. We invite you and your family to join us for a special Mother’s Day service at Crossroads Church on Sunday, May 11, with services at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM.

Let’s take time together to thank God for the moms in our lives and celebrate their immeasurable impact.
You won’t want to miss it!
